Senate Elections 2022-2023

Results

From Monday 25 April to Friday 13 May 2022, we invited self-nominations for vacant positions on Senate, the governing body for academic matters at QMUL:

  • Two in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Four in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry
  • Six in the Faculty of Science and Engineering

This position was open to:

All current academic staff who are appointed to full time or part time posts on either a permanent academic contract or a fixed-term academic contract extending at least two years beyond the point at which the call for nominations is made.

Three self-nominations were received for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and an election was held from Monday 23 May 2022 to Monday 13 June 2022.  Following the count on Thursday 23 June 2022 the following members of staff were elected:

  • Professor Rob Briner (School of Business and Management)
  • Dr Émilie Oléron Evans (School of Languages, Linguistics and Film)

Six self-nominations were received for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and an election was held from Monday 23 May 2022 to Monday 13 June 2022.  Following the count on Thursday 23 June 2022 the following members of staff were elected:

  • Dr Erik Blair (Institute of Health Sciences Education)
  • Dr Lucy Carter (Institute of Health Sciences Education)
  • Dr Pedro Elston (Institute of Health Sciences Education
  • Professor John Marshall (Barts Cancer Institute)

Fourteen self-nominations were received for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and an election was held from Monday 23 May 2022 to Monday 13 June 2022.  Following the count on Thursday 23 June 2022 the following members of staff were elected:

  • Dr Michaela MacDonald (School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science)
  • Dr Anthony Phillips (School of Physical and Chemical Sciences)
  • Professor Thomas Prellberg (School of Mathematical Sciences)
  • Professor Elizabeth Tanner (School of Engineering and Materials Science)
  • Dr Yannick Wurm (School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences)
